NPSL South Region Week 18 Review/Preview

In the Heartland, last week Ozark FC (6pts, 6th SEASON COMPLETE)  jumped up again and bit someone. This time, it was Little Rock just as FC Wichita beat Demize

and Tulsa Athletic beat Dallas City FC.

This week,  the last week of the regular season has FC Wichita (22pts, 1st) hosting Dallas City. Tulsa Athletic (13pts, 4th) hosts Little Rock (16pts, 2nd) and Dallas City (13pts, 3rd) hosts Demize (7pts, 5th) for the last match of the season.

In the Lone Star, Shreveport Rafters had a split week- winning against Tyler FC and losing at Dutch Lions.

Houston Regals also lost at home to Fort Worth Vaqueros.

This week, Tyler (2pts, 6th) is at Midland-Odessa (18pts, 2nd) and hosts Vaqueros. Rafters (10pts, 4th) also host Dutch Lions (20pts, 1st) and Vaqueros (16pts, 3rd) host Regals (8pts, 5th).

In the Southeast, 7 teams are chasing six spots and it will come down to the last day of the regular season to decide Tuesday’s playoff locations. Last week, New Orleans won at the Silverbacks

and at home against Inter Nashville to clinch the west. Memphis City stayed in step with a win at Birmingham as CFC split their week with a big 7-0 over the Georgia Revolution and a 2-1 loss at home against Inter. The point of contention for CFC fans was this goal in the 65th that was reversed. Mad Kemp has the look at the turning point.

This week, the East is decided with Knoxville, the Silverbacks, and Asheville City in. The Revs (3pts, 10th) play at the Silverbacks (17pts, 5th) and Asheville City (15pts, 7th) hosts Inter Nashville. If Atlanta wins, they’re the two-seed. If Asheville wins and get some Revs help, they’re the two-seed. Knoxville (23pts, 2nd) awaits the winner. And they’re at Memphis City (16pts, 6th).

In the west, Chattanooga FC (19pts, 3rd) needs a point against FC Carolina United (6pts, 8th) to go in and eliminate Memphis City. Inter Nashville (19pts, 4th) is brought back into the discussion for the 2 and 3-seed with some help. New Orleans Jesters (25pts, 1st) are the top in the west and host Birmingham (5pts, 9th).

In the Sunshine, it’s still Miami United and Fusion as the one and two. Last week, Fusion won twice (27pts, 1st)- 6-0 over Boca Raton. Here’s Sportsmesh’s look…

Naples, however, did get a 2-2 draw with Beaches

and Kraze brought Jacksonville Armada U23 to the pack with as 4-2 win.

This week is the next to last week in the regular season and starts with Kraze (15pts, 3rd) hosting Boca and Beaches. Boca (6pts, 5th) also has some mid-week action hosting Naples and Beaches (5pts, 6th) Wednesday. The Armada (14pts, 4th) host United (22pts, 2nd) and Naples (4pts, 7th) host Fusion Saturday night.

NPSL Southeast Region Week 17 Review/Preview

In the Lone Star, it was a 6-point week for Shreveport with wins over Regals and Tyler FC. Dutch Lions also won in a 4-3 shootout over Midland-Odessa.

This week, Dutch Lions host Rafters and Regals host Fort Worth Vaqueros.

In the Heartland, Ozark FC played twice and went 1-1 with a win over Demize,but losing to Little Rock Rangers. FC Wichita shut out Demize 4-0

and Dallas City knocked off Tulsa Athletic 2-1.

This week, Demize hosts FC Wichita. Little Rock hosts Ozark and Dallas City hosts Tulsa in the back end of the home and home.

In the Southeast, it’s now seven teams for six playoff spots. And Birmingham might have something to say about it- a 3-match week with two losses to Inter Nashville and Knoxville (giving up 10 goals), but holding Atlanta Silverbacks to a 1-1 draw at Sicard Hollow.

The Silverbacks also gave up a 1-0 lead before losing to Asheville City, 2-1. New Orleans beat Memphis City, 3-2, and Chattanooga FC is coming from the outside with a 5-0 win over FC Carolina United. Mad Kemp has the FCCU highlights…

Plus a shocking loss to Memphis City mid-week… Knoxville also solidified their space on top with a 4-2 win over the Georgia Revolution.

This week, Atlanta hosts Jesters. Birmingham can keep playing spoier with a match with Memphis. Asheville City hosts FC Carolina, the Revs play Knoxville, and Inter Nashville hosts Chattanooga FC.

In the Sunshine,  Miami’s Fusion and United keep winning over Kraze United and Boca Raton FC. Sportsmesh has the United-Boca highlights

Jacksonville Armada u23 drew Beaches FC at twos.

This week, Fusion plays at Boca before hosting Naples. Miami United also host Naples over the weekend as Naples goes to Beaches on Sunday as a part of their 3-match week. Kraze also hosts the Armada.

In the South Conference, this is where we think some of the most competitive soccer will be played all spring and summer…

Starting in the Southeast, it’s crowded and there’s a lot of offense on the table…

There are six teams separated by six points. Atlanta Silverbacks are on top with 9 points, then the gaggle breaks in. Inter Nashville, Knoxville, and Asheville City are at 8. New Orleans Jesters are at 7. Chattanooga FC are at 5. Birmingham Hammers are at 4, Memphis City have 3, FC Carolina United have 2 and the Georgia Revolution have 1 point.

Last week, Atlanta shut out Knoxville before the Force put 5 on FCCU. Esportesnet has the highlights…

Scruffy City Syndicate has the five-spot from Sansom. FCCU lost the sandwich game in their week, 3-2, to Asheville City.

Inter Nashville and Memphis City had a scoreless draw and the Jesters beat the Revs, 1-0.

This week, Silverbacks are at FCCU and Knoxville. Inter Nashville host Asheville and New Orleans. Memphis City hosts Birmingham before going to Asheville. The Revs host Chattanooga FC Saturday before CFC’s Thursday match in Birmingham.

The Heartland is still a big jumble with five teams within five points of each other. Little Rock Rangers are at 9 points with FC Wichita at 7 points, Tulsa Athletic at 6, Dallas City at 4, and Joplin’s Demize at 4 points. Ozark FC is still looking for their first positive result of the season.

Last week, Rangers beat Dallas City and drew Demize. Demize also beat Tulsa and Dallas City. FC Wichita also beat Ozark FC. This week, Ozark hosts Dallas City and Tulsa host Wichita.

Finally in the Sunshine, it’s still the two Miami franchises and everyone else. United leads Fusion by 3 points (12-9). Armada U-23 and Boca Raton FC are at 6. Beaches and Kraze United are at 3 points and Naples United have lost their first four matches.

NPSL Southern Region Week 11 Review/Preview

Finishing up in the Southern Region, the Heartland Conference is putting up some big numbers out of the blocks. First stop: Tulsa Athletic where they put up 9 goals in their match with Ozark FC

Little Rock Rangers and FC Wichita got full points as well with wins over Demize and Dallas City FC. Here’s the action from Wichita…

This week, Dallas City goes to Little Rock and Joplin. Rangers visit Demize on June 1st. Demize start their week hosting Tulsa. FC Wichita hosts Ozark Saturday night as well.

The Lonestar Conference has two undefeated sides for starters- Fort Worth Vaqueros (9 points) and Midland-Odessa FC (6 points). Vaqueros beat Dutch Lions and Shreveport Rafters this week. Midland-Odessa also beat Rafters mid-week. Here’s the match…

This week, a big early-season match as Vaqueros go to Midland-Odessa and Tyler host Dutch Lions.

The Southeast will be one of the most competitive conferences this season. And the top of the ladder is a first-year team in Inter Nashville. Inter beat Memphis City 3-0 last week and stay on top. The Atlanta Silverbacks are second and lost in the division to New Orleans Jesters.

Chattanooga FC is one of the three sides tied at 5 points- as they were leading Birmingham 1-0 when lightning hit the area in and around Fort Finley and called the match- rescheduled for June 20. But the team had an awesome assist on the National Anthem. Mad Kemp has the video

And went to Memphis, for a part of the Volunteer Derby, and drew at nil

But, probably, the save sequence of the week goes here from Memphis City the goalkeeper at the 6:06 mark off the PK and rebound. Mad Kemp has it as well…

Knoxville Force played a home and home with Asheville City SC and got four points- drawing at ones in Asheville on a 94th minute PK

But came back to win at home 3-2, thanks to the Scruffy City Syndicate, for the match

This week, Atlanta hosts Knoxville before the Force return home for a Tuesday match with FCCU. New Orleans host the Revs, Memphis City hosts Inter Nashville and FCCU hosts Asheville City.

In the Sunshine Conference,  the biggest move was by Miami Fusion as they beat Miami United, 5-2, to draw within three points of the conference leaders. Sportsmesh tv has the match from south Florida.

Armada U-23 shut out Naples 3-0 and Beaches FC shut out Kraze United, 2-0, to get their first win of the season. Sportsmesh was there as well…

This week, Beaches host Miami United. Naples host Boca and Armada host Fusion.
