Coming off the heels of a successful hosting of the U.S. national team’s 1-0 win over Jamaica, Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium is preparing to host Chattanooga FC’s first ever meeting with new MLS club Atlanta United. The match will be the first preseason match of 2017 for Atlanta as they are gearing up to start their first season on March 5.
Chattanooga FC general manager Sean McDaniel said:
“It really is a David vs. Goliath situation, and we need every CFC fan in attendance to help us cheer on our home team. We met a lot of Atlanta United fans this past weekend at the Men’s National team game, and they all told us they were coming back for this. This is our opportunity to show a major league club exactly why Chattanooga is such a great soccer town. It has all the makings of a great atmosphere and a great game.”
Tickets are available for the match at the club’s website and as part of all Chattanooga FC season ticket packages. Sean McDaniel told SDH Daily last week that “ticket sales are robust. Every day we sell a little more than the day before.” He expects to hit between 9-10,000 fans on Saturday.
McDaniel also broke the news with us that the game would be streamed on the team’s website. They’re planning a three-camera shoot and a high quality broadcast for this special occasion.
